Community festival is a brand new one day event at the iconic Finsbury park, a site that has hosted some of the best musical talent this little island has ever seen. Bands like Arctic Monkeys, Oasis and the Stone Roses have all performed at this legendary venue and on the 1st of July Community fest is coming to bring you the best in todays British music scene.

Considering its the festivals first year it is seriously impressive that they’ve brought in Catfish and The Bottlemen one of the countries biggest Alt-rock bands for their only English festival performance this year. This is a band that got to number 1 last year with their album The Ride and really shows that this isn’t a new festival to be taken lightly. Community are here to smash this out of the park (pun intended) and have brought in best British talent to do so.

Joining Catfish and The Bottlemen are The Wombats who will be celebrating the 10 year anniversary since debut album  A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation was released. An iconic album that many will agree was the soundtrack to their formative years. You can expect nothing but hit after hit as the band perform classics like “Moving to New York”, “Lets Dance to Joy Division” and “Emoticons” from their most recent album.

Punk duo Slaves will also be in attendance bringing their own brand of thrashy, riff-based punk to the stage. Having risen meteorically through the scene off the back of their electrifying live performances these are not a band to miss as they smash out hits including “Where’s Your Car, Debbie” and “Spit it out”. Slaves are impossible not to enjoy live and are sure to get the whole crowd up and moving.

Nothing But Thieves will be showcasing both new material and tracks off of their top 10 Self titled album as they are joined on the lineup by the rest of the first wave of artists: The Hunna, indie-poppers Fickle Friends and RedFaces.

Expect more artists to be announced in the lead up to this exciting new event and with the level of talent already on board, this is shaping up to be a huge opening day for Community Festival.

Tickets are available at TickX from around £40 which is an absolute steal considering the size of these bands. Get excited, by tickets, support another new live music event. God knows we need these nowadays.
